Maria Ryan is an accomplished artist and designer who has been winning awards and pleasing collectors around the world for over 35 years.  She received her formal art education at C.W. Post Long Island University in New York.  She is also a graduate of the Graphic Arts Preparatory School of New York City.  She has completed over 540 workshop hours at the Huntington Fine Arts School of New York and has studied with many internationally renowned artists in the United States and Europe.

Following six years residence in Europe, she and her husband moved to Tampa, Florida,  and Coeur d Alene, Idaho.  After downsizing from a large home they now reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  

Her paintings have consistently  received accolades  and awards of the highest order in shows in the United States and Europe.  Her work has been exhibited in Frankfurt, Germany,  Heidelberg, Germany, the Tampa Museum of Art, the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.  She was selected into the prestigious 'Art for the Parks' National Competition in Jackson, Wyoming two consecutive years - Top 100 and Top 200.   Maria has contributed her artistic skills to the painting of a number of life-sized animals for charitable public art projects.  Several are featured in the book 'American Art Parade'.  She is also involved with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, near her home, donating artwork to their fundraising events.

Contemporary large paintings to traditional large and miniature paintings are part of her diverse body of work.  Her brightly-colored abstract paintings are innovative dynamic statements filled with energy.
